Abstract: The aim was to explore the relation of lower bone mineral density in middle-and older-aged women in communities of qinan. 142 Han women eligible at 44~76 ages, health joined in. Bone mineral density (BMD) at os bone was measured by os bone density measuring apparatus.A detailed questionnaire was provided of each women by the physician during an interview including women's age, menopausal time, menstrual history, reproductive and childbearing history, disease and operation history, family history. And all data were analyzed. The investigated women were grouped by period, reproductive years and operation history. Then analysed the relation of the three groups on BMD respectively. There was a negative correlation between BMD and women's age, menopausal time(P< 0.05). The BMD in women with regular period, longer reproductive years and nonoperation history were slightly higher than those of women with irregular period, shorter reproductive years and operation history. Age and menopausal time are the chief factors of lower bone mineral density in middle-and older-aged women.

Key words: BMD, menopausal time, menstrual history, reproductive years, operation history
