Changes of TF, TFPI in Plasma and the Clinical Studying in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction Undergoing PCI

Abstract:

Objective To investigate changes of tissue factor (TF) and tissue factor pathway inhibitor(TFPI) before and after 4 h, 24 h after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) and their significance in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) undergone PCI.Methods The levels of plasma TF and TFPI were measured in twenty-five AMI patients with chromogenic assay, as experiment group, and simultaneously blood samples were collected from fifteen healthy person as control group. The measure points were before, 4 h, 24 h after PCI.Results 1) The levels of plasma TF and TFPI of experiment group were significantly higher than those of control group( P <0.05). 2) Compared with those of before PCI, there were significant increase of plasma TF 4 h post-PCI ( P <0.05), and there were no significant changes of plasma TF compared with those of before and 24 h post-PCI( P >0.05). There were no statistical significance of activity of TFPI before and after PCI( P >0.05).Conclusion s 1) There exists abnormally activated hyper-coagulation state in AMI patients. 2) PCI procedure may cause plaque rapture and results in TF release and triggers the extrinsic coagulation pathway. These results suggests that increased TF expression at injured atherosclerotic coronary lesions markedly increase the risk of thrombin generation. 3) These suggest that the balance between TF and TFPI is broken.
