Abstract: Objective To classify provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions of China into different categories according to the morbidity and mortality of acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS) in year 2013 and make comparison among them. Methods We used fast clustering procedure to do the classification according to indicators of AIDS morbidity and mortality, classifying the provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, to compare the prevalence and severity of AIDS among them. Results All the provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions could be divided into five parts based on the prevalence and severity of AIDS. Severity of AIDS in Yunnan Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were at the top level in China, as morbidity and mortality in Yunnan Province were 12.474 8 per 0.1million population and 3.599 5 per 0.1million population, also morbidity and mortality in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were 15.036 3 per 0.1million population and 5.916 3 per 0.1million population. Conclusion National AIDS epidemic has significant spatial clustered, providing a scientific basis for rational allocation of health care resources and developing effective prevention and control measures.
