Abstract:

Objective Apply Integrated Visual and Auditory Continuous Performance Test to evaluate the curative effect of electroencephalographic(EEG) biofeedback treatment on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD). Methods Fifty cases of ADHD children in Psychology Department of our hospital from January 2013 to March 2014 were selected to accept EEG biofeedback training ( five times a week, 30 minutes per time, 20 times as a course). All patients accepted two continuous courses of EEG biofeedback training. Integrated Visual and Auditory Continuous Performance Test(IVA-CPT) was applied to detect visual-auditory control and Visual-Auditory attention before and after the treatment. We will compare the changes of the relative quotients, to evaluate comprehensively of the curative effect of EEG biofeedback. Results After the training, integrated control and integrated attention of children were significantly improved(P<0.001). Except willpower quotient and speed quotient, the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion EEG biofeedback training is an effective method for ADHD which is worth being popularized clinically.
