Publication Ethics Statement


  • Statement of Publishing Ethics and Publishing Malpractice

     

    I. Authorial ethics

    1. The author is obliged to show that the thesis is an original article and does not contain any forgeries, deceptions or plagiarism. The thesis does not involve state secrets or any infringement issues related to intellectual property rights. It is guaranteed that the paper has not been submitted in more than one draft and its content has not been published in any other journal or media in any other language. Guarantee that the paper will not be submitted to another journal before receiving a return notice from the editorial office. Clearly indicate the cited sources of the cited literature and list them in the form of a reference list. List the various organisations and individuals who have provided scientific funding and advice for the paper.

     

    2. Medical ethics and registration of clinical trials: The research must follow the basic principles of medical ethics. When the subject of the paper is a human subject, the authors should state whether the procedures followed comply with the ethical standards established by the committee responsible for human trials (unitary, regional or national). Provide a copy of the approval document from the committee (approval number: document number) and a copy of the informed consent form from the subjects and their relatives. When the paper uses animals as research subjects, the source of the animals should be provided, an indication of whether the experimental procedure complies with the principles of animal protection should be given, and the document of approval by the ethical review committee should be provided. The clinical trial registration number should be a globally unique one obtained from a WHO-accredited tier 1 clinical trial registration centre. Authors of articles involving clinical trials should mention the registration status and registration number in the abstract or body of the article.

     

    II. Reviewer ethics

    1. Ensure scientific and accurate consideration of manuscripts and make objective and fair evaluations. Make use of their professional knowledge and ability to review the innovation, scientificity and practicability of the manuscripts; and make a fair assessment of whether the research methodology is appropriate, whether the scientific design is reasonable, whether the results and conclusions are accurate, and whether there is any leakage of confidentiality.

    2. Respect the research results of the authors and avoid manuscripts in which there is a relationship of interest. Evaluate the manuscripts under review only in terms of their academic nature, and refrain from evaluating individuals and making personal attacks. The authors must clearly state their opinions with sufficient arguments and facts.

    3. The manuscripts reviewed are kept strictly confidential and are not circulated or discussed with others, and the data, views and conclusions of the reviewed manuscripts are not used or published for personal use.

     

    III. Editorial ethics

    1. The editor strictly implements the relevant national laws and regulations, abides by the ethics and norms of academic publishing, and upholds the integrity of scientific research. Handle all incoming manuscripts in a timely and fair manner to ensure that the edited manuscripts are of high quality for publication.

    2. Respect the research results of authors and the opinions of reviewing experts. Maintain the authenticity of the review records and keep the information on all aspects of review and revision confidential. The editor and the editorial staff shall not disclose any information about the submitted papers to others, except for providing the required information to the corresponding authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board, as appropriate.

    3. The reviewed manuscripts shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be circulated or discussed with others, nor shall the data, opinions and conclusions of the reviewed manuscripts be used or published for personal use. If there is a conflict of interest with the submitted manuscript, the editor should recuse himself/herself.

     

    IV. Determination and Handling of Academic Misconduct

    Academic misconduct is strictly prohibited in Journal of Capital Medical University. All manuscripts are tested by China National Knowledge Infrastructure Academic Misconduct Literature Checker for Science and Technology Journals, which requires a check rate of less than 20%, and also conducts tests for AIGC use, picture falsification and other behaviours. The journal strictly prohibits data forgery, improper citation and other academic misconduct.

     

    The specifics of academic misconduct can be found in "Academic publishing specification-Definition of academic misconduct for journals CY/T 174-2019" of the People's Republic of China Press and Publication Industry Standard issued by National Press and Publication Administration. In case of improper attribution, plagiarism, forgery, falsification, multiple submissions, duplicate publication, split publication, etc., the paper will be considered as having academic misconduct and will be handled with reference to the relevant guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
