Abnormality of Self-reference Effect in Mania Patients

Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between mania and self using paradigm of self-reference effect(SRE). Methods SRE was measured in mania patients and 15 normal controls matched in age and education degree, and the results were analyzed. Results SRE was shown in normal controls, and R performance on Self task was better than on Luxun task(P<0.01). But in mania patients, there were no significant differences in R performance among Self task and Luxun task(P>0.05). The results demonstrated that SRE was not shown in mania patients. Conclusion There was abnormality in self-reference effect in mania patients.
