Clinical effects of Stronger Neo-Miaophagen C in combination with ribavirin in treatment of severe measles

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of Ribavirin in combination with Stronger Neo-Miaophagen C in treatment of patients with severe measles. Methods A total of 103 cases with clinical diagnosis of severe measles from June 2009 to May 2012 were randomly divided into two groups, including 51 cases in control group and 52 cases in treatment group. The patients in the control group were treated with ribavirin intravenous infusion alone, while those in the treatment group were treated with Stronger Neo-Miaophagen C in combination with ribavirin intravenous infusion. After the end of treatment for 7 to 10 days, the results of both groups were compared. Results The total effective rate(94.23%) of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(74.51%)(P<0.05). Conclusion The therapeutic effects of Stronger Neo-Miaophagen C in combination with ribavirin was better than ribavirin alone in the treatment of patients with severe measles.
