Lichtenstein technique advantages compared to the traditional surgical treatment of inguinal hernia

Abstract:

Objective Reveals Lichtenstein technique advantages compared to the traditional surgical treatment of inguinal hernia. Methods Select our hospital 118 cases diagnosed from January 2011 to December 2013 surgical admitted for inguinal hernia. Press the number randomly divided into a control group and the observation group, 59 cases in each group. The control group received traditional hernia repair treatment. Observation group performed surgical Lichtenstein hernia repair. Two groups were compared operative time, hospital stay, postoperative ambulation and postoperative urinary retention, wound hematoma, scrotal fluid and edema, hematoma and other complications were observed. Results Through comparative analysis, the observation group surgery time, hospital stay, postoperative ambulation time, postoperative urinary retention, wound hematoma, scrotal effusion and edema, hematoma and other complications were lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significance (P<0.01). Conclusion Using Lichtenstein inguinal hernia surgical treatment has advantages over traditional hernia repair.
