The evolution from disastrous operation to minimal invasive surgery and brain reparation——Academician Zhao Jizong, the founder and pioneer of minimally invasive neurosurgery

Abstract: As a neurosurgeon, professor Zhao Jizong is a pioneer and founder in Chinese neurosurgical academy, who promotes the development of microsurgical techniques and theory and international collaboration. He was elected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013 for his contributions to the establishment of minimal invasive-neurosurgery and achievements in clinical and basic research of complex cerebrovascular diseases. He constantly devotes himself in the translational research of brain network and function reconstruction in neurosurgical practice to advance neurosurgery in a new era.
