Voyage of discoveries of sensory decoders—Introduction of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2021

Abstract: On October 4, 2021, Beijing time, the Karolinska Institute of Sweden in Stockholm announced that the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to American physiologist David Julius and American molecular biologist Ardem Patapoutian in recognition of their outstanding contributions in discoveries of receptors for temperature and touch.Here, we will give the introductions of David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian as well as their scientific contributions and significance underlying those.
