Tracing the evolutionary history of humans——Introduction of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2022

Abstract: On October 3,2022,Beijing time,the Karolinska Institute of Sweden in Stockholm announced that the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Swedish evolutionary geneticist Svante Pääbo in recognition of his outstanding contribution for “his discoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution”. Here, we will provide the introduction of Svante Pääbo as well as his scientific contributions and significance.
