Abstract: Four different kinds of culture medium were used to continuously culture newborn larvae of Trichinella spiralis(T. S). The result showed that newborn larvae were dead in no more than 4 h in physiological saline, they could survive for 9 d in pure 199 culture medium, they could survive fore 26 d in 199 culture medium added with new bovine serum or fetal bovine serum. Analysis showed that there were great difference in the survival rate between the pure 199 culture medium and that with added serum, there was no significant difference in survival rate between the two culture medium added different serum.
