Antihypertensive Effects of Bisoprolol on Hypertensive Patients

Abstract: To evaluate the antihypertensive effect and safety of bisoprolol, 30 patients with mild to moderate primary hypertension were treated with bisoprolol 5 to 10 mg, once daily for 8 weeks. It were also monitored that changes of blood pressure before and after medicine by 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. 29 cases were followed up. The total effectiveness was 86.2%. Compared with pre treatment, the decreased SBP and DBP had significant statistical difference. The T/P ratio was >50%. The adverse effect was low, and there was no side effect on the metabolic of cholesterol and glucose . The results shows that bisoprolol is effective and safe in the treatment of mild to moderate primary hypertension.
