Abstract: Various methods were used to culture rat embryonic neural stem cells(NSCs). The cells were induced to divide so as to be confirmed as NSCs, and were checked by phase contrast microscopy and immunofluorescence. The results showed that cells grew the fastest when both bFGF and EGF were added into the culture medium. Higher NSCs concentration promoted cell proliferation. It suggests that the two neurotrophic factors have cooperative effects on stimulating cell growth and higher NSCs culture concentration can promote its proliferation.
