Morbidity of White Coat Hypertension in Different Kinds of Population

Abstract: In order to know the incidence and characteristic of white coat hypertension in the population firstly diagnosed as hypertension (WCH), WCH and sustained hyper tension (SH) were classified by clinical and 24 h ambulatory blood pressure measurements. Incidence of white coat hypertension was calculated in each group by age, gender and type. According to the results, the incidence of WCH was 28%, which was higher in female or in systolic hypertensive patients. White coat hypertension was prevalent in the population firstly diagnosed as hypertension. WCH should be noticed in female patients or patients with systolic hypertension.
