Abstract: To evaluate the diagnosis effect of evoked potentials for Subclinical Hepatic Encephalopathy (SHE), the brain stem auditory evoked potential(BAEP), visual evoked potential (VEP) and somatosensory evoked potential(SEP) were tested in 121 cases of cirrhotic patients. In the 121 cases of cirrhotic patients, 48 patients(39.67% )were found abnormal with BAEP, 62 patients ( 51.24%)were found abnormal with VEP and 50 cases (41.32%) were found abnormal with SEP, the total abnormal rate was 75.21%. Evoked potentials can be used as a sensitive paramete for SHE. There is an added advantage of performing three kinds of evoked potentials to detect SHE.
