Abstract: To analyse the clinical features and imaging changes of intracranial metastases and parenchymal type cysticercosis and to investigate methods of differentiating diagnosis, 25 patients with intracranial metastases and 25 patients with cerebroparenchymal type cysticercosis were studied and their clinical features were compared. Lumber puncture and MRI scan and Gd-DTPA-enhanced MRI were performed in all patients. Dysfunction of central nerve and intracranial hypertension in intracranial metastases was more significant than in cerebroparenchymal type cysticercosis. The results suggests that clinical manifestations and result of lumber puncture and MRI have important significance for differentiated diagnosis and clinical therapy.
