Clinicopathology analysis of 21 cases in primary cardiac tumors in children

Abstract: Objective  To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of primary cardiac tumor in children, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.Methods  Totally 21 cases of primary cardiac tumor in children of pathological features of were made and the clinical data and combined with literature were analyzed.Results  According to the morphological characteristics, the results of immunohistochemistry, and the clinical data analysis, 21 children with primary cardiac tumors were all benign tumors, including 6 cases of cardiac rhabdomyoma, 6 cases of cardiac myxoma, 5 cases of cardiac fibroma, 1 cases of cardiac leiomyoma, 1 case of cardiac angioma and 2 cases of mesenchymal cardiac hamartoma.Conclusion  Primary cardiac tumors in children are rare and mostly benign. Although clinical manifestations are common, tumors with typical pathological features. Immunohistochemical staining is helpful for diagnosis and differentiation.
