Study of intense pulsed light treatment for acne

Abstract: Objective To observe the efficacy of different frequency intense pulsed light(IPL) in treatment of acne vulgaris. Methods Fifty cases were randomly divided into two groups. A group received the treatment every 2 weeks, B group received the treatment every 4 weeks, continued treatment for 4 times. Michelsons scores were compared at the 2 and 4 weeks after the treatment. Results The therapeutic effects in the A and B group were significantly better than those before treatment (P<0.05). The therapeutic effects in the A group were significantly better than those of B group (P<0.05). Conclusion IPL can get better clinical results in acne treatment. Treatment interval of 2 weeks is better than treatment interval of 4 weeks.
