Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical effect of the correction of epicanthus by the modified inverted L-shape epicanthoplastycombined with double eyelid surgery. Methods From January 2018 to January 2020, a total of 716 eyes of 358 patients had undergone the inverted L-shape epicanthoplasty and double eyelid plasty. The inverted “L” short arm was continuous with double eyelid incision, and the long arm was hidden in the lower eyelid margin. All the patients were followed up in 6 month after the operation using the PROM (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) to evaluate the outcomes. Results Totally 347 patients were satisfied with operation result. The contours of the eyelid fissure were smooth and natural, while the surgery scare was hidden naturally. 15 eyes in 11 patients had the poor morphology after operation of epicanthoplasty and double eyelid plasty, all of which were repaired with the second operation, and the satisfaction rate is 97%. Conclusion The inverted L-shape epicanthoplasty combined with double eyelid plasty we explored was an effective and practical method.
