Abstract: To investigate the protective effects of Abelmosehus manihot (Am) on rat renal tubular with nephrotic syndrome, the nephrotic rat model was made by tail vein injection of adriamycin 5mg/kg. Am was given and changes of urinary type Ⅲ collagen(C-Ⅲ),N-acetyl-β-D-glucosa minidase(NAG)and β2 microglobulin(β2-MG) were observed. It was shown that the excretion of urinary C Ⅲ,NAG and β2-MG in nephrotic rats were significantly increased as compared with those of the normal control group (P< 0.01). In the group treated with Am, the excretion of urinary C-Ⅲ,NAG and β2-MG did not increase obviously . Am exerted strong protective effects on rats renal tubular damage with adriamycin induced nephrotic syndrome.
