Abstract: In order to clarify the changes in ovarian function after hysterectomy, cases having undergone hysterectomy with ovaries remaining were followed up in one to three post operative years. For the patients having undergone hysterectomy with one-side or both-side of ovaries remaining, the ovarian function is lower than normal ovarian function, and the function is declined earlier. In the third post operative year, the ovarian function decreased significantly, and was even lower than estrogen level in the early follicular phase in women of the same age. Therefore, patients with hysterectomy should be supplied with timely estrogen.
