Investigation on the prevalence of menopausal symptoms of women in Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital

Abstract:

Objective To investigate climacteric symptoms and the health status of perimenopausal women in Hospital. Methods The questionnaire survey was carried out on menopausal women. SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results There are 194 women completed the survey. The five most frequent symptoms in menopausal women were fatigue(79.38%), insomnia(76.80%), irritability(74.23%), depression(67.01%), palpitation(67.01%), while in postmenopausal women were knee pain(100%), vaginal dryness(100%), urinary incontinence(100%), fatigue(77.68%), insomnia(75.89%). Higher follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), aging and poor education were related to climacteric syndrome. Conclusion Our results of menopausal symptoms were different from the westerners'. Education, age, FSH may be associated with menopausal symptoms. Total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), luteinizing hormone(LH), progesterone(P), testosterone(T), estradiol(E2) may not be associated with symptoms of menopause.
