Abstract: To evaluate the effects of cranioplasty using allograft bone flaps, 18 patients with cranial defects were followed up after the original bone flaps were removed. The allograft bone flaps that were stored in a deep frozen state and kept bacterium free were used as repairing materials. All of 18 operations were successful. No infection occurred. X-ray and CT scans showed no absorption of the grafts. The results indicate that cranioplasty using allograft bone flaps is safe and practical with a good cosmetic effects and no infection.
