Abstract:

Objective To seek proper the therapeutic protocol of radiotherapy in combination with hyperthermia,in order to provide the experimental support for clinical treatment of the advanced stage cervical carcinoma. Methods HeLa cells were exposed to radiation, heating and radiation combined with heating respectively in vitro.Counting the cells number and the colony number, drawing the cells survival curve, calculating the growth inhibitory rate, the rate of colony formation and the inhibition of different groups. Results 1) There was no significant difference between exposing at 43 ℃ for 30 min and at 42 ℃ for 2 h(P>0.05).2) The growth inhibition rate of radiation,or hyperthermia alone and radiation combined with hyperthermia were significantly different(P<0.05).3) No differences of the growth inhibition, colony forming and inhibitory rate were found between two seguential managements.4) No differences were found when HeLa cells exposed in the same seguence but in different time intervals(30 min,2 h, 24 h) between two protcols, the rates of growth inhibition, colony forming and inhibition were similar(P>0.05).Conclusion 1) Radiation combined with hyperthermia's effects on the HeLa cells were much better than either radiation or heating.2) Under the same X-ray dose condition, choosing different time intervals between radiation and hyperthermia, there was no difference in the rate of growth inhibition, colony forming and inhibition between radiation followed hyperthermia and hyperthermia followed radiation.
