Abstract: “Key Laboratory for Neurodegenerative Diseases of Ministry of Education(Capital Medical University)” was founded in 2005, mainly depending on Xuanwu Hospital Beijing Brain Aging Key Laboratory and Capital Medical University Beijing Nerve Regeneration and Repair Key Laboratory. The research direction of this lab is the basic and clinical application studies of neurodegenerative diseases(Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease). The major research contents include epidemiological study, genetic study, pathogenesis study, early diagnosis study and therapeutic study of neurodegenerative diseases. It is characterized by the tight linkage between basic research and clinical study, and by building the research platform for translational medicine of neurodegenerative diseases. This article summarizes the progress and achievements in the aspects of obtaining national major research projects, scientific and technological creativity, achievement translation, research team growth and academic influence during the recent 5 years since this lab was set up.
