Abstract

Abstract: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) is one of the most common malignancies in China. In China, most ESCC patients diagnosed by endoscopy were at advanced stages, which lead to poor prognosis. It is urgent to diagnose ESCC at its early stage. In recent years, many endoscopic methods were developed, such as narrow band imaging(NBI), optical coherence tomography(OCT) and confocal endoscopy. To help endoscopists recognize early ESCC better, we provide a review on the progress of endoscopic diagnosis of early ESCC.
