Abstract:

In this paper a clinical analysis of 150 cases of cerebral cysticerosis treated with praziquantel is reported. The range of age in this group was 7 to 65 (127 males, 23 females). The duration of disease varied from 50 days to 30 years. Praziquiantel often exerted a good therapentie effect with 95.3% of the total cases improved. Follow-up surveys over 6 months disclosed satisfactory results. The problems of diagnosis, pathogenesis, differential diagnosis, adverse reaction of preziquantel in the treatment of cerebral cysticerosis, indications, contraindications and experience were discussed.
