Abstract:

Objective To study the safety and feasibility of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy(MPCNL) under the guide of Bmode ultrasound in treating kidney calculi.
Methods The clinical data of 159 patients with kidney calculi and upper ureteral calculi treated with minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy under the guide of B-mode ultrasound from October 2006 were retrospectively investigated.
Results Good therapeutic effects were achieved by minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy for the 159 cases.
Conclusion Minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy under the guide of B-mode ultrasound is safe and effective in treating kidney calculi. It may offer advantages with respect to less invasion and easy recovery.

Key words: B-mode ultrasound, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, renal calculi
