Abstract: Objective To analyze the relationship between the asymmetric tongue presentation and paralysis in patients with acute cerebral infarction and to provide evidence for early diagnosis of cerebral infarction. Methods From march 2008 to february 2009, 200 patients seen in Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University were enrolled in this study. The patients were classified into the following sympotom differentiation types: pyrophlegm, phlegmatic hygrosis, asthenia, and yin deficiency. The blood stagnation in sublingual veins, the tongue body and the coat of tongue were observed. Results In these cases, sublingual veins, the body and the coat of tongue were asymmetric.
