Effect of Herbal Penetration Therapy on Infusion Extravasation

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of herbal penetration therapy on infusion extravasation. Methods Sixty patients with infusion extravasation were treated with herbal penetration therapy with Wai Fu Fang, a decoction of traditional Chinese medicine which included cortex moutan, red peony root, mirabilite, and was decocted by dispensary of traditional Chinese medicine. Results The treatment was markedly effective in 50 of the 60 cases(83.3%) effective in 10(16.7%), and the total effective rate was 100%. Conclusion Herbal penetration therapy with Wai Fu Fang had a marked effect on infusion extravasation. The treatment was also convenient. The herbal penetration therapy should be popularized and applied in clinical practice.
