Abstract: To identify the clinical significance of cardiac troponin T(cTnT)in asymptomatic patients with chronic renal failure(CRF), vein blood was drawn from patients with CRF of no hemodialysis(HD), maintenance HD, the skeletomuscular damage, the acute myocardial infarction and CRF with heart failure patients in proper order. Fullautomatic ELISA assay was used to determine cTnT serum levels, assay serum cretinine(Cr), creatine phosphate kinase-MB(CK-MB), lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)and hydroxybutyric acid dehydrogenase(HBD). The results is that during acute myocardial infarction, the mass density of cTnT increased significantly as a result of myocardial infarction. Blood cTnT was elevated in patients of CRF with heart failure. Blood cTnT fell to normal as soon as the heart failure was cured. But cTnT was not significantly elevated in asymptomatic patients with CRF. There was no clinical specificity for cTnT assay in asymptomatic patients with CRF.
