Hypoxia inducible factor: a weight to balance the oxygen homeostasis—introduction of Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2019

Abstract: On October 7, 2019, Beijing time, the Karolinska Institute of Sweden announced in Stockholm that the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to American scientists William G. Kaelin, Gregg L. Semenza, and the British scientist Peter J. Ratcliffe in recognition of their contribution in understanding cellular perception and adaptation to oxygen changes.
