Abstract: Maintenance of constant cell volume is an evolutionarily ancient homeostatic process.Volume-sensitive organic osmolyte and anion channels(VSOACs),which are permeatable to chlorine, distribute widely in human being, animals and vegetables.VSOACs participate in cell volume regulation and play primary roles in regulatory volume decrease.
