Chronic Myometritis

Abstract: From 1958 to 1981, 48 cases of chronic myometritis were treated in our hospital. In all patients the diagnosis was confirmed by hysterectomy and pathology. The incidence was 1.8% of thetotal number of hysterectomy performed during the same period. The patients, ages were 32-45, most of them were multiparous. Menorragia, pain and anemia were the main symptoms. The uteri were symmetrically enlarged. The chief microscopic features were symmetrical thicking of myometrium of the uterine corpus, hypertrophy of the smooth muscle and interstitial connective tissue , lymphocytjc infiltration etc.. The difinition,clinical symptoms,pathological features, treatment and pathogenesis were discussed.
