Aneurysms of the Aorta

Abstract:

The data concerning aortic aneurysm from 92 autopsies weresummarized.These aneurysms classified by etiology were listed asfollows:Arteriosclerotic aortic aneurysm 65 cases,Dissecting aortic aneurysm 26 casesMycotic aortic aneurysm 1 caseAges at death ranged from 37 to 96 years and the average age was71.8 years.Rupture of aneurysm occurred in 52 cases(56.5%).Suddendeath occurred in 26 cases(28.3%).Forty-six cases died directly as aresult of acute hemorrhagic shock and acute pericandiac tampanadeseconcary to rupture of the aneurysm.The premortem diagnosis was madein 32 of 66 hospitalized cases(48.5%).In this paper,etiology,pathologicfeatures,complications and clinical manifestations of aortic aneurysmwere discussed.
