A Study on Short-term Safety of Transcervical Chorionic Villi Samples During Early Pregnancy

Abstract: This study consist of 578 cases of transcervical chorionic villi sampies(CVS)during early pregnancy for observation of short-term safety. This paper is presented by“The Diagnosis of Early Pregnancy Coordination Group of Beijing”during March to October 1985. Most of the CVS were taken between 6~8 weeks of gestation.The succesful rate was 79.4%.All cases were observed and followed for 1~2 weeks.Fetal loss rate was 4.7%.Post-biopsy complication consisted of uterine bleeding,perforation embryonic sac,spontaneous abortion, ceased growth embryo and genital infection of mother.Induced abortion were performed in 568 cases.Another 10 cases continued their pregnancy. In 97 cases,examination of intrauterine microorganism were done ofter chorionic villi samples,among them,anaerobic bacterial growth were isolated in 7 cases.They were considered to be non-pathogenic organisms of female genital.
