Abstract: The aim of our experiment is to observe the positive effect of Salvia Miltiorrhiza to liver regeneration of partially hepatectomized rats through the rate of DNA synthesis,DNA content, labelled nuclei, mitosis and regenerating liver weight. The results indicated that Salvia Mihiorrhiza has the effect to promote DNA synthesis and cell proliferation during liver regeneration. We suppose that the positive effect is achieved through improving local blood circulation and inereaseing the effect of hepatotrophic factors. The effect of Salvia Miltiorrhiza to liver regeneration may be clinically important。 It may be used as a drug for the treatment of post-hepatectomy to premote liver regeneration, and it may also be benefit to other liver diseases.
