The Investigation of the Corticospinal Tract in Rat Spinal Cord Studied with Degeneration

Auterograde degeneration of the corticospinal tract has been studied with the cupric silver method,the Fink-Heimer method procedure Ⅱ and bleaching of Fink-Heimer method in adult rat after lestions of different cortical areas.Degenerating fibers were found in the ventral part of the contralateral dorsal funiculus and the medial part of the ipsilateral ventral funiculus.The degenerating fibers located in the dorsal funiculus could be traced down to the sacral segment while those in the ventral funiculus were only observed in the cervical area.Degenerating terminals were widely distributed in laminaeⅠ-Ⅶ of the spinal cord.A somatotopic organization of degenerating terminals could be found:terminals from motor cortex are projected mainly to laminale Ⅳ-Ⅶ of the spinal cord and those from somotosensory cortex to laminaleⅠ-Ⅴ.The results suggest that the location of the corticospinal tract may reflect an aspect of mammalian evolution and the corticospinal tract must take an important part in regulation of sensory and motor functions in the central nervous system.

By the quantitative morphometrie method,pulmonary vascular structure was studied on the lungs of 61 normal subjects and 37 cases who died from a congenital cardiac septal defect.The results showed that early pulmonary vascular changes were:(1)The increase of pulmonary arterial muscularity—a abnormal extension of muscle into peripheral arteries and an increased medial wall thickness of the normal muscular alteries,(2) The increase of density of pulmonary muscular and partially muscular arteries,(3)The reduction of the intraaeinar arterial size.Advanced pulmonary vascular changes were the reduction of the medial wall thickness and the decrease of the density of pulmonary muscular and partially muscular arteries. The persistence of the thick arterial wall of fetal life in neonate of congenital cardiac septal defect were observed and provided the histological evidence for the delaged postnatal fall of resistance and persistent fetal circulation in congenital cardiac septal defect with left to right shunt.

Vaccinated serum getting from mouse which vaccinated with irradiated cercariae of S.mansoni.After western blot,using the vaccinated mouse serum to do immunodetection of soluble antigens of adult worm of S.mansoni on nitroeellulose paper.The result appeared that vaccinated mouse serum recognized 21 KDa solubleantigen of adult worm of S.mansoni obviously.The antibody combined with 21 KDa soluble antigen of adult worm on nitrocellulose paper was eluted and using that antibody to do Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)With soluble antigens of each stage in life history of S.mansoni,all of the results were positive.We conclude that 21 KDa soluble antigen of adult worm of S.mansoni is a defined antigen.This antigen is not stage specific,it is a common antigen of each stage in life history of this parasite.The results indicate that 21 KDa soluble antigen of adult worm of S.mansoni is a surface antigen.

The sub-chronic toxic test and chromosome aberration ana lysis of rats and mice were examined.The animals were fed with the diet that contain 22% muscle and 4%fat of the Beijing roast-duck which were irradiated by 60Co-ray with 20KGY.The results showed that there were no statistical significant difference between the experimental animals and controls in the parameters of the growth ratio,coefficiency of died utilization,routine and specific test of blood, viscera wt/body ratio and pathological inspection.There were also no statistical significant difference between the two groups in the chromosome aberration ratio of the cells from bone marrow of rats and the cells of testis of mice.This study shows that such a irradiated Beijing roast-duck has no toxicological harmful intluence to the experimental animals.

Iodophor-No.1 is a new disinfectant.We carried out the following stu- dies:acute toxicity test and sensitization test of Iodophor-No.1.The re- sults showed that the Iodophor-No.1 belongs to low toxic substance,by the orally taking LD₅₀ test in mice and rats.Acute skin toxicity cannot determine in guinea pigs;irritate test of the mucosa membrance of the eyes by the thick solution of Iodophor-No.1 showed a strong irritate effect 50 per cent Iodophor-No.1 showed middle irritate effect,25,5,2, and 1 per cent are without any irritating properties;skin irritate test of rabbits did not show any irritate effects;The sensitization test by guinea pigs was negative. Therefore,we think that Iodophor-No.1 is a promising disinfectant for skin and medical instrument.

With the electron capture detector(ECD-⁶³Ni)of SP-2308 Gas chroma- tograph,the determination of ultimate residue of deltamethrin in cotton-seed and soil of cotton field was obtained respectively.The residue was with- in the scope allawed by FAO/WHO,whether 2.5g/mu or 1.5g/mu of active ingredient of deltamethrin was applied.The insecticide Was sprayed 4 or 5 times and the interval between the last spray and the harvest Was 35 or 20 days.The residue dynamic equation of deetamethrin in cotton-leaves and the soil Was negative exponential function.The half-lift of deltame-thrin in the cotton-leaves Was 4.19 days and 3.51 days in the soil.

Feulgen stain and microspectrophotometer were used for the study of the effect of pyrimethamine on the DNAamount of oocysts of Plasmodium yoelii yoelii.The results showed that there were many DNA particles in the early stage of normal oocysts and a lot of mature sporozoits in their late stage.After pyrimethamine was used,the development of oocysts was retarded and some of them formed“black spore”.The amount of DNA in drug-affected oocysts was much lower than the control group.It was indicated that pyrimethamine interfered with DNA synthesis in oocysts,which in turn inhibited the growth of malaria parasites in mosquitoes.

The membrane Ca²⁺-ATPase has the function as the pump to transport the intracelluar Ca²⁺. This work observed the activity of thc erythrocytes membrane of 20 hypertension patients and 20 normal subjects.The results have showed that hypertension patients have the lower activity of erythrocytes membrane Ca²⁺-ATPase than the normal subjects。The urine Ca²⁺ excretion of hypertension patients is increaed significantly than the normal group.

The aim of our experiment is to observe the positive effect of Salvia Miltiorrhiza to liver regeneration of partially hepatectomized rats through the rate of DNA synthesis,DNA content,labelled nuclei, mitosis and regenerating liver weight. The results indicated that Salvia Mihiorrhiza has the effect to promote DNA synthesis and cell proliferation during liver regeneration.We suppose that the positive effect is achieved through improving local blood circulation and inereaseing the effect of hepatotrophic factors.The effect of Salvia Miltiorrhiza to liver regeneration may be clinically important。 It may be used as a drug for the treatment of post-hepatectomy to premote liver regeneration,and it may also be benefit to other liver diseases.

The relationship between cold reactive antibodies against donor specific lymphocytes in 55 cases cadaver renal transplantation receiptor sera and allograft survival in cadaver renal transplantation were described.We set up a group of formula of Relative Safety Coefficient(RSC)in order to describe more exactly those results by mathematical method.It was proven by the experiments:significantly more kidney transplants surivived in patients with the B-cold pattern than in those without antibodies,but such benefit is still weak.

100 cases of fibrome and thecoma of ovary were analyzed with three groups histopathologically.The results of double blind trial from clinic and pathology indicated that ovarian fibroma and thecona both originated from ovarian mesenchym with transitional in morphology.It is easy to distinguish among typical tumors,but it is difficult for cellular fibroma and thecofibroma.The fat and collagen(V.G)stain are need.
