Abstract: Iodophor-No.1 is a new disinfectant.We carried out the following stu- dies:acute toxicity test and sensitization test of Iodophor-No.1.The re- sults showed that the Iodophor-No.1 belongs to low toxic substance,by the orally taking LD₅₀ test in mice and rats.Acute skin toxicity cannot determine in guinea pigs;irritate test of the mucosa membrance of the eyes by the thick solution of Iodophor-No.1 showed a strong irritate effect 50 per cent Iodophor-No.1 showed middle irritate effect,25,5,2, and 1 per cent are without any irritating properties;skin irritate test of rabbits did not show any irritate effects;The sensitization test by guinea pigs was negative. Therefore,we think that Iodophor-No.1 is a promising disinfectant for skin and medical instrument.
