The experiments were carried on anesthetized and immobilized rats, and the change of spinal field potentials (SFP) was observed when L-5HTP or 5-HT was given. No change was seen in SFP during intraperi-tonial injection of L-5HTP solution. The amplitudes of waves N and P reduced or increased in equal number following intravenous injection of L-5HTP.Only decrease in magnitude of waves N and P was shown when 5-HT was locally applied. No change in wave A's amplitude could be observed in all experimental groups. The results indicate that 5-HT may influence formation of waves N and P mainly via suppression of the activity of interneurons as well as pre-and/or postsynaptic inhibition.

An enzyme immunoassay for the measurement of TXB
2
Was developed. TXB
2
Was coupled with β-galactosidase by mixed anhydride reaction. The separation of immunocomplex from the free form of TXB
2
Was accompli-shed by the double antibody method. The precipitated enzyme activity was measured fluorometrically with 4-methyl-umbelliferyl-β-D-galactoside as substrate. The sensitivity of this method is <0.008pmol (<3.125pg) per tu-be. The inter-assay and intra-assay coefficients of variation (CV) were 5.9% and 5.4% respectively. TXB
2
during AA-induced aggregation of ra-bbit platelets Was directly measured, and regression analysis of the data comparing EIA (Y) and RIA (X) gave the equation Y=0.821X+1.397, cor-relation coefficient r=0.955.

The present Work deals with a study on the authenticity and specificity of the antagonistic action of aminophylline upon the negative dromotropic effect of exogenous adenosine in guinea pig. Negative dromotropic agents (adenosine, acetylcholine, MnCl
2
) and their antagonists (aminophylline, atropine) were injected into the auricle successively through two pre-inser-ted cannulae to expose their hidden interrelaions in terms of electrocardio-graphic manifestations. Experimental results disclosed that 0.06~0.18mL of 0.5mg/mL adenosine could invariably give rise to a second-degree A-V block, whereas 0.1~0.2mL of 30mg/mL aminophylline was capable of antagonizing completely the nega-tive dromotropic effeet induced by adenosine at the same dosage mentioned above in almost all the guinea pigs tested. The substitution of acetylcholine (5μg/mL ,0.03~0.20mL)or manganese chloride (10mg/mL, 0.3~1.5mL)for adenosine could achieve A-V block likewise, but the negative dromotropic effect of ACh andMnCl
2
was characterized by its inability to be antagonized by aminophylline. Atropine was noted for its evoking a blockade on the negative dromotropic effect of acetylcholine, but failed to exert any inf-luence upon the A-V block caused by adenosine. This study confirmed the authenticity of the autagonistic action of aminophylline on the negative dromotropic effect of adenosine, and moreover, testified the specificity of the antagonistic interaction between aminophylline and adenosine as compared with other A-V block-inducing agents like acetylcholine and MnCl

According to the character of bioelectrical information which has low or superlow frenquency, long recording time, we designed this medical data processor (MDP). With its properties of high speed data acquisition, large memory capacity and some useful functions, it has played a important part in the bioelectrical research work. Considering the properties of hardware and software and the coordination between them, We have succesfully solved the contradiction between quickening the aquisition speed of multichannel data and the operation time of software, therefore, increased the acquisition rate to the highes, hardware limit of 13 us/point and made use of available memory capacity as large as possible which is 48k bite/8 channels. Controlled by TP-801 microcomputer, this MDP has the functions such as 8 channels data acquisition, real time superposition, 2~4 channels information output and some regular data processing functions.

In the detector, a AC/DC amplitude balance circuit is designed. Through the circuit, both AC and DC amplitude can be got respectively and with-out changing the switch positions. The frequence range of the detector is also extended by the design. A all wave linear rectifier circuit riases the resolution to 1 μA. The two terminals of the detector can be used altena-tively without difference of polarity. This character further enhances the reliablity of the detector.

The hair and serum of 89 normal children and. 80 developmentally retarded children were collected, and the content of zinc, copper, iron, manganese and chromium were determined by atomic absorption spectropho-tometry. It was fund that, while content of copper in developmentally: retarded children was higher than that in normal children, and the content of zinc, manganese and chromium in developmentally retarded children were lower than normal children. The fact provides an important clue for further study of pathogenesis of this disease. We have made and initial exploration in the cause of the changing occurred in trace element in hair and serum of developmentally retarded children and its clinical significance.

The concentration of fibronectin (Fn) in plasma and its distribution in liver Were observed. The result showed that the deposition of Fn in liver correlated with the severity of liver fibrosis, and the concentration of plasma Fn is eleveted significantly in early stage of liver fibrosis. When the contents of collagen deposition in liver cama to maximum, the concentration of plasma Fn decreased and was lower than control group. It suggests that Fn may take part in raising the deposition of collagen in fibrosis and serves as an early diagnostic marker of liver fibrosis.

The plasma ANP radioimmunoassay was carried out on 14 cases with the first stage essential hypertension and on 14 normal subjects. The results show that the plasma ANP level of the patients with essential hypertension is higher than that of the normal subjects(
p
<0.02). Meanwhile, the 24 hours urine amount and the plasma renin activity (PRA) of the essential hypertensive subjects are also higher than the normal group (
p

p

The concentrations of zinc and copper in serum were measured by ato-mic absorption spectrophotometry in 42 health adult dogs. The mean values Were 14.8±2.0m.nol/L and 13.6±2.7mmol/L respectively. Liver zinc and co-pper were measured in 29 health dogs, and the mean values were 2.4±0.4 mmol/g d. w. and 2.8±1.0mmol/g d. w. respectively. There was no significant difference between the two sexual groups in serum and liver zinc and copper values. In normal fed dogs, there were little changes in serum zinc and co-pper. As feeding large amount of zinc, the level of serum and liver zinc elevated quickly and serum copper decreased simultaneously, while the li-ver copper remained unchange.

Clinical experience from the application of pectoralis major myocutaneous flap in the reconstruction of oral-maxillofacial defects in 20 cases were discussed in this article. Among the 20 cases, pedicle muscle in 11 cases, pedicle vascular in 8 cases, and pedicle myocutaneous in 1 case. The results were as follow: 16 cases survived, 3 cases partly survived, and 1 case failed, The largest size of the flaps was 10×14 cm
