An Analysis of Nervous Mechanism of Cardiovascular Response Induced by Ammonia Stimulation of Nasal Mucous Membrane in Rabbits

To assess nervous mechanism responsibility for cardiovascular response induced by ammonia stimulation of nasal mucous membrane(CVRA),especially the effect of the cardio-sympathetic nervous system.Changes in heart rate and blood pressure were observed on 38 rabbits.Inhalation of ammonia resulted in bradycardia and increased in blood pressure.The bradycardia was not abolished by bilateral vagotomy but was done by injection of propranolol.The response of blood pressure was reduced by iujection of phentolamine.After severed the buffer nerve,the CVRA was the same but bradycardia and a decrease in blood pressure was induced by electric stimulation of the central end of depressor nerve.The CVRA was not changed by olfactory bulb section but was depressed by midbrain section.These results suggest that integration of trigeminal input occurs at pons medulla;the excitation of cardio-vagal centre and sympathetic constrictor centre and inhibition of cardio-sympathetic centre activity occurs during CVRA.The CVRA may be facilitated by higher central nervous system.The central mechanism of the CVRA differs from that of the depressor reflex.It may be concluded that in intact animal the cardiovascular response iuduced by various environmetal stimuli appears in characteristic and regular integrative patterns.

The double projection neurons from cat's lumbosacral enlargment were identified by antidromic stimulation of both the cervical dorsal column and the dorsolateral column and stained intracellularlly with horseradish peroxidase.The cell body,dendritic arbors and their gemmules and the local laterals of the cell's axon were revealed completelly。The cell body and the gemmules dendrite were analysed and measured by the Pericolor 2001 type. The cell body was located in Laminae Ⅲ—Ⅴ.All the dendritic arbors situated nearly in Laminae Ⅲ—Ⅴ too.There is a ratio of 4.5 to 1 to 2.8 in rostrocaual,mediolaterel and dorsoventral length of the dendritic arbors.Axon collaterals arborized extensivly and issued varicositylike terminal branches in Laminae Ⅲ—Ⅴ,both within and beneath their dendritic territories and ventral to the cell body.The length and width of the the cell body are 58.25 and 51.04 um。The lenght and width of dendritic gemmules ranged from 1.15 um to 4.97 um(X=2.62um)and 0.78 um to 3.27um(X=1.93um)。Length-width ratio is 1.51±0.26.The length of pedicel of the gemmules ranged from 0.49-10.87um(X=2.56um).

Using the chick-skin model,we have investigated the effects of various pretreatments of the skins on adherence.Acid treatment enhanced adherence of the two types of P.aeruginosa.The reduction of adherence after sodium metaperiodate treatment suggests that the adherent receptor contains sugar,but the pretreatment by the four sugars(D-(+)galactose,D-(+)mannose,N-acetylglucosamine and L-fucose)without the significant inhibition of P.aeruginosa adherence.Only sialie acid inhibited the adherence of these strains. Galactose-specific P.aeruginosa lectin and CL.perfringens neuraminidase had no inhibitory effect on the adherence of the organisms.SPSpurified from slime strain S36 at concentrations as low as 50μg/ml enhanced adherence of the strain S51 and strain S36 The antisera to SPS inhibited the adherence of strain S36 and S51 but not the adherence of nonslime strain NS 8. Direct electron microscopic examination of slime strain S36 have shown that thestengancymof slime strain of P.aeruginosa to produce a thick, flexible,exopolysaccharide-enclosed glycocalyx.It is evident that SPS is an important material in adherence of P.aeruginosa stralns to the skins.

The sections of human placenta were examined for the localization of the tumor-associated placental proteins(PP)by using mean of an indirect,peroxidase-labeled antibody procedure. Placental tissue section that were exposed to the antisera of the PPshowed a marked staining of the trophoblast plasma membrane. Additionally,the specific antisera of the PPalso stained the human liver carcinoma cell line(SMMC-7721)and the gastic carcinoma cell lines(MGC-803,Kato-111),suggesting these cell lines synthesize the proteins that similar to PPantigenically.

The Pathologic data of normal human kidneys were reviewed.Subjects ranged in age from 8 months to 83 years and were divided into 4 gronps on the basis of 20 years Total subjects were examinated under light microscope.12 cases totality were also studied under electron microscope Results showed that with ageing,the rate of glomerulosclerosis were increased and glomerular basement membrane were thickened,the thickness of the basement membrane of the loop of Henle were increased.We found that the number of the disklike bodies in the basement mambrane of the loop of Henle increased with age. These changes were sigmificant statistically.The latent renal changes in the elder indicated that renal function decreased with ageing.for diagnosis treatment and diet,we must consider the renal functinn in the elderly.

The antioxidant Dmainly containing N-pbenyl-2-naphthyl-amine was a pollutant of the rubber industry.It was suspected a mutagen, carcinogen or comutagen,cocarinogen.This paper indicated that the antioxidant D significantly elevated the rate of the micronuclei in the mouse bone-marrow polychromatid erythrocytes and in the liver polychromatid erythrocytes cells of the foetus rat.It suggested that the antioxidant D is a mutagen,carcinogen and has the genetic toxciity of tne foetus.

This article describes the results of the measuring of the amount of zinc,copper and iron in the sperm,Serum and hair of 53 fertile men and 92 sterile men.Except that the amount of zinc in the sperm of and the st erile patients is lower than the fertile,the amount of copper iron in the sperm,serum and the amount of copper and iron in the hair of the sterile are all higher than those of the fertile,but there is no difference in the amount of zinc in the hair between the fertile and the sterile. In this experiment 92 sterile patients were divided into three groups.The first group includes those whouse sperm contains no spermatozoa.The sperm of the sterile in the second group is not qualified for fertility.The sperm of the patients in the third group cannot be liquefied. The reducing of the amount of zinc in the sperm of those Whose sperm is not qualified for fertility is usually associated with poor or insufficient liquefaction of the sperm or the increase of leucocytes in the sperm.Treating the inflammation of innerreproductive organs can improve the quality ofthe sperm.

Platelet aggregation(PA)studies were conducted in 53 cases of cerebral hemorrhage and 23 cases of cerebral ischemia,using ADP-induced in vitro aggregation testing and turbidimedric recording.51 normal controls were also tested.PA mean values in cerebral hemorrhage were far below normal in contrast to the values in cerebral ischemia.The difference was statistically significant, raising the point that abnormalities in platelet aggregation in different types of strokes have meaningful importance,and this study can contribute to the prevention,diagnosis and therapy of cerebrovascular diseases.

The plasma angiotensin II(ATII)has been separated by Sep-Pak C¹³and purified by HPLC then measured by RIA.25 mg of Captopril was administred orally to 8 patients with essential hypertension. The significant change of Plasma ATII started from 10 minutes after administration of Captopril.Plasma ATII and MAP both reached the lowest level at 60 minutes after Captopril,such response between plasma renin activity(PRA)and MAP was not observed.

Sinus Node Electrograms(SNE)were recorded in 48 patients by Gomes's method Ⅱ.25 cases had normal function of sinus node,7 cases had Doubt Sick Sinus Syndrome(DSSS),16 cases had Sick Sinus Syndrome(SSS).Stable SNE could be recorded in 41 cases (85%).Directly measured Sino-Atrial Conduction Time(SACT_D)was 75.5±7.8ms in control group,DSSS group was 88.0±3.5ms,SSS group was 171.7±39.4ms.There were no different between control and DSSS.groups.There were the significant different between control group and SSSgroup. This work has studied the influence to SNE in different Low-Pass filters.By the SNE directly observed influence on SSACT_D during carotid sinus massage intervious atropine and atrial stimulation. The advancemant and Limitation of Gomes's method Ⅱ and SACT_D were analysed.

One hundred forearm fractures in ninety nine patients were treated with variant methods from 1975 to 1980.All the cases were followed over two years,Non-operation treatment is less effective than operation treatment in terms of the fracture union and functional reaction.The plate internal fixation is most effective in operative cases,particular in the cases treated with Bagby plate.

17 cases of birth canal hematoma were reported in this article.It was analyzed with relative risk method.The results showed that thrombocytopenia,anemia,EPHsyndrome,prolonged labor.Fatty were the factors which lead to birth canal hematoma,so that we must examine them carefully after the delivery.The typical symptom was painful in anus area within severl hours after labor. If it extended into broad ligament,there was painful in the same lateral lower abdomen.The treatment of fresh hematoma is exposure it,taking off the blood clot,hemostasis and then close up it. Longitudinal incision is convenient to expose its cavity and to seek for bleeding points.If bleeding cannot be stopped completely,pad is needed for tamponing.Epidural anesthesia is useful when hemotma is located in the upper segment of vagina.In order to prevent infection, plenty of antibiotics was given after the operation.Treatment can prevent from infection and the hematoma would be absorbed spontanously.
