Abstract: 12 rats were used in present study for localization of the AChE-contianing neurons of the spinocerebellar tracts in the cord. 10 cases of them, the HRP-AChE double-labeled and HRP sing-labeled neurons in these gments of the spinal cord were traced with Mesulam's histochemical techrique. AChE-containing neurons and spinocerebellar neurons in the same segment of the spinal cord are demonstrated respectively in another 2 cases. The result of present study suggests that approximate 50 per cent of the spinocerbellar neurons in rat spinal cord contain AChE, although the amounts of AChE in those neurons may be different. The population of the AChE neurons in different cell-groups of the spinocerebellar tracts would be ralated with the functional differences between cell-groups.
