Studies of the Erythrocyte Sodium Pump Activity in Human and Effect of P. Palmatum on it

Abstract: The cation-transport activity of the human erythrocyte sodium pump Was studied with 86rubidium uptake method. We chose the experimental optimum conditions and measured the activity of erythrocyte sodium pump in 70 normal individuals （0.449±0.059mmol/ （L·h）.X±SD）. The inhi- bitory activity of P. Palmatum on the human erythrocyte sodium pump in vitro was also observed, Our studies suggest that abnormal sodium pump activity may play a role in the pothophysiology of cellular thermogenesis.
