Abstract: The energy charge of cochlear membranous part of guinea pig and of human serum was determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), in which phosphate buffer (pH6.0) was used as mobile phase, YWG-C18H27 as stationary phase and ATP, ADP, AMP as external standard materials. Little amount of sample is separated and determined by this method. The energy charges of 15 normal guinea pigs and 5 patients were 0.68~0.80 and 0.53 respectively. The results indicate that this analytical method is not only stable and sensitive but also of easy to manipulate. This method can be applied to clinic and scientific study.
