We studied the morphological characterization of epidemic hemorrhagic fever virus with electron microscopy. We observed that epidemic hemorrhagic fever viruses are bunyavirus-like, enveloped spherical particles. The average diameter of the virions is 113nm, larger than that of other members of bunyaviridae, and the variation of the diameter of the virions is also bigger. The morphogenesis of epidemic hemorrhagic fever virus is more complicated, may be there is a pattern different from that of other members of bunyaviridae.

The present experiment laid stress on synchronous observation of the changes in myocardial endogenous adenosine level and heart rate as well as coronary outflow. The results disclosed: 1. Hypoxia can cause increase in endogenous adenosine level and coronary outflow and decrease in heart rate. 2. Specific antagonist of adenosine-aminophylline antagonized completely the changes in heart rate and coronary flow. Therefore, we concluded that myocardial endogenous adenosine might be causally related to the changes in heart rate and coronary outflow.

This article presents the morphologic studies of the injurious and reparative processes of tendons and peritendinous tissues after high voltage electrical injuries. The results showed that following tendon injuries the injured region Was often replaced by fibrous connective tissue, although this proliferation could come from local surviving mesenchyme tissues, but more importantly it can come from the peritendinous fibrous connective tissues. The agent in high voltage electrical injuries is heat produced by electric arc.

Since the hydrolytic polymerization of Fe(Ⅲ) affects its bioavailability the inhibition of its hydrolytic polymerization by means of polysaccharides has been studied for developing iron supplementary preparation. In this study Iron(Ⅲ) complexes with dextrin and the oligosaccharide from controlled hydrolysis of dextrin have been prepared. The infrared spectra show the two complexes are practically the same in composition and coordination structure. They are still polymerizaed basic Fe(Ⅲ) complexes, but no precipitates were observed up to pH 11. The lron content of oligosaccharides complex is more than the dextrin complex and depends on hydrolytic degree of dextrin. The kinetic studies show that the reduction of Iron(Ⅲ) ion in the complex proceeds at a fast rate.

Defined changes in the volume of solution of ferric chloride used in titrating early morning urine have been used to predict ovulation during 81 menstrual cycles in 6 women. A peak volume of ferric chloride was formed in the middle of the menstrul cycle. The peak is compared with the LH peak of urine and with BBT. In addition, author have analysed urinary, estrogens during the menstrul cycle by HPLC. These results are coincident. Therefore, we can combine this method with BBT and cervical mucus to determine time of ovulation. The method can be also applied to predict ovulation in animals.

A total of 94 mice were experimentally infected with Trichinella spiralis larvae, and circulating antigens in their sera were determined at different periods after infection with ELISA double sandwich method, Some infected mice began to show positive reaction 3 days after inoculation and the reaction became strongly positive in all infected animals 30 days post-infection. The percentage of positive reaction and the value of OD in ELISA tended to increase with the increase in intensity and duration of infection, One week after being treated with albendaole, the larvae within the muscles of the infected animals were mostly found dead and some of them appeared to be absorbed by the surrounding tissue, but the reaction still remained 100% positive. However, at 2,3 and 4 weeks after treatment, the percentage of ELISA positives became 60%, 20% and 10%. On the contrary, specific seral antibody titre remained high. It indicates that circulating antigens may differenciate between acute and past infections. Dot-ELISA and reversed indirect hemagglutination were also conducted simultaueously. The positive rates of Sendwich ELISA, Dot-ELISA and RIHA were 76.9%, 56.9% and 33.8% respectively. All control animals showed negative reaction.

as stationary phase and ATP, ADP, AMP as external standard materials. Little amount of sample is separated and determined by this method. The energy charges of 15 normal guinea pigs and 5 patients were 0.68~0.80 and 0.53 respectively. The results indicate that this analytical method is not only stable and sensitive but also of easy to manipulate. This method can be applied to clinic and scientific study.

Human embryinic lung diploid fibroblasts were used as an in vitro model for anti-ageing research in this experiment, When the cells were subcultured 25 times they were divided into two groups, group I supplemented with Poris Cocos- Royal Jelly, and group Ⅱ cultured normally as a control. The two groups were subcultured at regular intervals until the cell ceased proliferationg. If no proliferation can be found after two weeks, the cells were considered to have come to the end of their lives. The results showed that the cells of group I were subcultured for 65 population doublings, While the cells of group Ⅱ only for 55 population doublings Therefore, Poris Cocos-Royal Jelly had increased the life span of the cultureby 18%. It was shown that Poris Cocos-Royal Jelly has some anti-aging effect on the diploid fibroblasts of human embryonic lung.

The analysis of left and right ventricular ejection fraction and clinical data obtained from 42 cases of severe cor pulmonale, 7 cases of mild cor pulmonale, 16 cases of cot pulmonale with coronary heart disease and 30 normal people showed that severe cor pulmonale patients had left heart insufficiency in acute attack stage In contrast, the patients with mild cor pulmonale did not have left heart insufficiency. The results imply that cor pulmonale develops from a mainly right heart disease into global heart disease only in advanced stage. The comparison of left ventricular function between severe cor pulmonale and cor pulmonale with coronary heart disease, demonstrated that the left ventricular insufficiency caused by dual pathogeneses always inflicts more myocardial damage and recovers with more difficultly.

10 cases of primary hyperaldosteronism were operated from May 1985 to April 1988. All the patients were preoperatively investigated with 4 methods for localizing the site of the tumor: B-ultrasonography; CT scanning; Angiography; Adrenal venous sampling to measure the concentration of aldosterone. CT scanning and adrenal venous sampling were proved to be the most reliable, giving a yield of 75% and 71.4% respectively. After employing all the 4 methods, positive results were obtained in 7 patients, although the tumors were intraoperatively and histologically confirmed in only 5 cases. The diagnostic yield of these investigations was thus calculated to be 71.4%. A discussion on how to select the operative aproach Was presented unilateral approach still can not replace the conventional transabodominal approach.

7712 cases of perinatal fetuses and newborns from 1986~1988 were analysed. 67 them were found to have congenital malformations. The birth defect rate was 8.68‰. During this period 148 cases were perinatal deaths. The perinatal mortality rate was 19.19‰. Autopsy was performed in 125 cases and the autopsy rate was 84.46%. Twenty-nine of 148 cases of perinatal death were diagnosed as congenital malformation. Malformation took second place in the causes of perinatal death,38 (5.02‰) live-born babies with malformations were found, The malformation appeared to be NTD, congenital heart disease, and hypoplasia of the respartory organs ect. Based on our studies, we consider that it is important to avoid expesure to teratogenic factors during early pregnancy. Chromosome aralysis, "B" ultrasonography and α-FP test are the screening methods that can be used to decrease the incidence of fetal malformation.

Female wistar rats were segregated into 5 groups (1, 8, 6, 10, 21months), the 21-month group was taken as ageing rats. Myocardial homogenates were prepared. The ventricular ANF levels in different parts of the myocardium were measured by RIA, As a result, ANF has a characteristic distribution in different parts of the ventricle. There is a negative correlation between the intraval-ventricular ANF and months. The experiment suggests that as age increases, the cardiac some important hormonal function diminishes during the heart ageing.
