Abstract: The present experiment laid stress on synchronous observation of the changes in myocardial endogenous adenosine level and heart rate as well as coronary outflow. The results disclosed: 1. Hypoxia can cause increase in endogenous adenosine level and coronary outflow and decrease in heart rate. 2. Specific antagonist of adenosine-aminophylline antagonized completely the changes in heart rate and coronary flow. Therefore, we concluded that myocardial endogenous adenosine might be causally related to the changes in heart rate and coronary outflow.
