Abstract: We carried out studies of rapid drug sensitivity testing of M. tuberculosis strain H₃₇Ra with the bioluminescence method. The method was that bacteria from about three weeks old cultures of M. tuberculosis strain H₃₇Ra on Lowenstein Jensen medium were diluted suitably and were added to 0.1 per cent Tween 80--system Sauton liquid medium (with or without antibiotics and free medium) and then incubated at 37℃ After inculation for four or five days, the amout of BL_30s rlu＇s were determined. We can know the drug sensitivity of M. tuberculosis strain H₃₇Ra which was estimated according to the inhibition rate of bacteria growth. The results of the seusitivity testing can be evaluated within 4 to 5 days. The method is rapid and easy to perform.
