Abstract: In ansethetized rabbits arrhythmia (mainly ecotopic deats) and striking ele- vation of arterial blood pressure could be elicited during and after stimulation of mamillary nucleus of the hypothalamus and its surrounding regions by monophasic square wave trains lasted 5~10 seconds (pulse duraion: 0.5~1ms; frequency: 40~70Hz; current intensity: 100~300μA). when blood pressure was at higher levels, stimulation of hypothalamus could elicit an increased response of arrhythmia. when blood pressure was at lower levels, stimulation of hypothalamus could elicit a decreased response of arrhythmia The results showed that there was significant correlation between levels of blood pressure and arrhythmia induced by stmulation of hypothalamus.
