Abstract: Some central neurons project to two or more target nuclei via their branched axons. The location of bifurcation points is usually estimated by calculation of conduction time spent in their parent axons. Howevre, in the present study, no consistant and reliable estimates of the location were shown, when four formulae were used to calculate the data obtained from intra- and extra-cellular recording. The results indicate that the calculation method is inapporpriate in its rationale and not applicable for the evaluation of branching points at least in case of unitary recording fron the ceil body.
